Andrew has over 25 years’ experience in the telecommunications, internet and electronics industries. His experience spans the supply chain from vendors, operators, internet and retailers.He gained his knowledge of the mobile telecommunications business working with RACAL (the founder of Vodafone), Vodafone and Motorola; and his knowledge of the internet business from Inktomi (acquired by Yahoo!) in Silicon Valley between 2000-2002. Having worked with listed corporations, private companies and founded venture funded start-ups, Andrew has in-depth knowledge of European, North America and Middle Eastern markets.

10+ years of data-driven consulting experience spanning IT, finance and operations. Helping clients get meaningful results from their data: strategy, machine learning, engineering and analytics.

I bring in 15 years of experience in innovation, business development, operations, strategic planning, technical delivery and business development. I am an expert in new product and business development. My expertise is within, Blockchain, Mixed Reality, Analytics and Digital Transformation. Enthusiastic and passionate for people, I am thrilled to manage uncertainty and discover unknown paths and breakthroughs.

Originally a software engineer, developing mainframe applications in Cobol, Gary became a client-server software architect, designing and leading the implementation of several large (10,000 clients plus) applications. After a brief rest as IT and membership manager for the Royal Yachting Association (a membership organisation with close to 200,000 members) he joined Ovum to run the company’s application development practice. From there he took over Ovum’s middleware practice and ran the company’s research organisation in Boston for two years. In his last two years at Ovum Gary worked as a Research Director.

Wide-ranging experience in startup and corporate software. Has successfully created products in streaming analytics, enterprise middleware, machine learning and the IoT.

I am currently focussed on the mobile side of the telecommunications industry. My previous experience has been in semiconductors, microprocessors, computer systems and software.

Product Designer & Design Engineer with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. I work with product based start up companies, helping them go from initial prototype through to production. I focus on cost and removal of unnecessary complexity, in order to deliver the product’s core value to a high standard. Previously a Design Engineer for Dyson, I learnt robust design and thorough mechanical testing. Along with lots of prototyping methods, I’m experienced in programming multi-axis laser cutters and laser welders as well as designing for large volume manufacturing. Along with my engineering expertise, I have a big passion for business. In 2014, I co-founded Lark Street Food, a small profitable venture based in Bristol.

Luke is an investor at Forward Partners, and pre-seed and seed stage VC with a focus on applied AI, ecommerce and marketplaces. Prior to joining Forward Partners, Luke was on the investment team of REV Venture Partners, a corporate VC, with a focus on big data, enterprise software and digital health. He was previously a consultant with the strategy consultancy Oliver Wyman, where he worked across the retail, aviation, healthcare and FMCG sectors.

Luke originally planned a career in science and he holds a PhD in biochemistry. His focus at Forward Partners is on sourcing and executing new investments.

Paul Wealls is an open innovator who works with numerous businesses, colleagues and friends to enable introductions, research planning, business modelling and investment for digital/ disruptive services. He knows that balancing his technical understanding and business experience, leveraging his global contact list delivers the resource for discovery discussions delivering agile decision making on ideas to push forward delivery of success. Paul has secured dramatic revenue and margin growth for EE Wholesale SMS, disrupted the fraud in the SMS industry with fraud platform development. Enabled acceleration of growth in IoT services with partnerships and investment management for clients.

Richard is experienced in the design and building of Augmented Intelligence (AI) systems, Robotics and the integration into the IT enterprise coupling IoT, Cloud and Big Data systems. He is currently engaged in the Architecture and Design of Industry 4 prototype solutions for engineering and manufacturers. Richard has won several awards for his work on Autonomic Computing and Sustainable IT, including a BCS Gold Medal and the European Green IT Award. He is also a patent holder on wireless technologies, a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of both the Institute of Engineering Technology and British Computer Society; Richard is also an Open Group Distinguished Architect. In 2013 he was listed by TimeWise in the London Financial Times as being one of the top 50 most powerful part time executives across the UK.

Specialising in embedded systems and electronic product development, Steven has over 15+ years’ experience working in the electronics and technology industries with a range of clients (Inc. fledgling start-ups/SMEs/multinational corporations) across a variety of sectors – helping them to harness technology, drive innovation and ultimately bring a product to market. In addition to working with individuals and business, Steven has also been a technology industry adviser to UK Government’s BEIS (formerly DECC) Smart Meter HAN Advisory group, a mentor to the IoTUK Boost programme, run by Cambridge Wireless, and he is Founder of Kear Technology Solutions.

Working within Arts Design and Social Sciences on The Trust Map. Developing innovative ways to collect data from participants and looking for alternative ways to better understand that data.

The SBU’s main product is Perimeta, the world’s only carrier class all-software SBC, which provides outstanding performance and security as an appliance, on customers’ own hardware, virtualized or in a cloud.

R&D business & technology manager, specialising in monitoring and managing innovative technology projects.  Technology & sector areas encompass emerging and enabling technologies, communications, energy, IoT, digital health, space, and others.

Deepak enjoys creating and leading multidisciplinary partnerships and alliances across business, academia and research & technology organisations.  He is the Innovate UK Monitoring Officer for Manchester’s IoT Smart Cities Demonstrator project, CityVerve.

Deepak is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a Fellow of the IET.  He holds RPP (Registered Project Professional) status and is a Member of the APM.

My career spans 22 years in PR & marketing delivering creative award winning communications work for global brands & startups – both within agency & in-house. From the start of my career to the present day, I am passionate about building stand-out campaigns – whether in the field of emerging technology, or global FMCG. I am also a big believer in positive working culture & smart working & have always worked hard to implement these values in my leadership.

A market entry specialist, Gordon has helped businesses focus on real market needs, develop new products, enter new markets, and find great partners and customers. He has a particular interest in Branding, Messaging, Go-To-Market planning, and building strategic partnerships. Driven by a desire to improve lives through technology and innovative ideas, particularly for people less fortunate.

Team-oriented personable plate-spinner with oodles of experience working with startups and early stage businesses. I thrive working on multiple projects simultaneously with never a day the same. I love getting to grips with coal-face problems and working alongside business leaders to define objectives and scope projects effectively. Experience in health and energy startups, building teams and social impact businesses.

Mat is Managing Director of Central Research Laboratory (CRL), London’s first purpose built hardware incubator and accelerator. Mat’s career has focused on design-led innovation across a number of fields; firstly at global innovation consultants IDEO, in both San Francisco and London, developing digital products, services and strategies, then as Chief Design Officer at the UK Design Council where he led pioneering work bringing design and startup practice to public and non-profit sectors as well as establishing the Design Council Spark product investment fund and programme. The CRL is currently developing a second site in Brighton.

My experience spans various industries including manufacturing, engineering, chemicals, energy, pharmaceuticals and FMCG. Special areas of expertise are in systems and interdisciplinary thinking, design based approaches to business and management issues and the business of the Internet of Things. I have experience both as an executive and non-executive director, combining strategic leadership with a strong practical understanding of the challenges that businesses face today. I am currently member of the board of Trustees at the Science Council and at the board of Pepal.org, a not for profit that brings NGOs and Global Corporations together to find simple solutions to big social issues. I have a PhD in Biochemical Engineering from UCL and an Mphil in Technology Policy from Judge Business School.

Phil is the founder and CEO of nCube, a Smart Home platform that has won multiple design awards and focused on creating the best smart home experience. Phil has 20 years of experience in the Telecoms, Media and Internet industry having led the delivery of a Mobile Advertising startup in Canada from scratch, executive consultant at Sentaca (Canada, USA, France, UK), run the personalisation portfolio of products at Redknee in Canada and prior to that multiple product delivery, research and innovation roles in O2.

I am an entrepreneur and UX pioneer; instrumental in shaping customer-focused experiences and research methodologies across the world. I have over 17 years experience delivering UX projects with blue chip clients
