CEATEC 2018 Opportunities
UK Tech Companies have been invited again to take part in CEATEC.
There are three ways to get involved.
Opportunity to pitch/showcase at CEATEC 2018 (16-19 October 2018) with your travel/hotel cost covered
IoT Acceleration Lab/Global Connection 2018 METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan) will be running a programme to invite 40 start-ups from around the world to CEATEC, Japan’s largest tech exhibition (16-19 Oct 2018) which attracted over 150,000 visitors last year. The Global Connection 2018 programme has been designed to help Japanese companies accelerate their IoT business by collaborating with innovative start-up companies.
METI plan to invite around 10 companies from EU. Last year three UK companies were selected.
UK companies are invited to apply through https://iotlab.jp/en/GlobalConnection/selectConnection
Entry will close on 29 June. Japanese companies (members of METI’s IoT Acceleration Lab) will vote the companies they would be interested in meeting and METI will be selecting those with higher numbers of votes to join the programme.
METI will cover return flights and hotels for one delegate per company for successful applicants. At CEATEC, companies will have an opportunity to have a booth, speak at a pitch session and have a series of one-to-one meetings with Japanese companies organised by METI’s contractor.

Department for International Trade Japan’s UK Pavilion at CEATEC 2018 – be part of DIT Japan’s tech campaign!
DIT Japan will have a UK pavilion at CEATEC to showcase UK tech companies. Companies can have a small booth and use the pavilion for meetings. You will also have an opportunity to present at a seminar at CEATEC on UK tech. Last year we attracted 150 guests.
It will cost GBP420 to join the pavilion. You will need to cover your flights and hotel.

Tokyo Metropolitan Government “Tech Business Camp” programme (Oct/Nov 2018)
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) are trying to drive foreign tech companies to set up an office in Tokyo to expand their business and will be running this programme over October and November 2018 which will enable successful applicant companies to attend a series of networking and pitching event and to have mentoring by large Japanese businesses to help you develop your business plan for Japan. You will need to cover your flight and accommodation costs but you may wish to consider applying for this programme if your business is to have a strong focus on Japan and CEATEC will also take place during this programme. The closing date for application for this programme is Friday 13 July.
