IoT Acceleration Lab/Global Connection 2018 METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan) will be running a programme to invite 40 start-ups from around the world to CEATEC, Japan’s largest tech exhibition (16-19 Oct 2018) which attracted over 150,000 visitors last year.  The Global Connection 2018 programme has been designed to help Japanese companies accelerate their IoT business by collaborating with innovative start-up companies.

METI plan to invite around 10 companies from EU. Last year three UK companies were selected.

UK companies are invited to apply through https://iotlab.jp/en/GlobalConnection/selectConnection

Entry will close on 29 June. Japanese companies (members of METI’s IoT Acceleration Lab) will vote the companies they would be interested in meeting and METI will be selecting those with higher numbers of votes to join the programme.

METI will cover return flights and hotels for one delegate per company for successful applicants.  At CEATEC, companies will have an opportunity to have a booth, speak at a pitch session and have a series of one-to-one meetings with Japanese companies organised by METI’s contractor.

Closing date for application: 29 June 2018
